City Extends Closing Period of Tourism Business Operational Activities Until April 19

Jakarta Government through Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) extended the closing period of tourism industry's operational activities in Jakarta for 17 days, from April 3 to April 19, 2020.

Through various considerations, we will also close other four business activities that could potentially cause transmission of COVID-19

This policy was carried out as an effort to increase people's awareness of COVID-19 transmission. Formerly, most tourist destinations in Jakarta have been closed for two weeks from March 23 to April 5.

Disparekraf Head, Cucu Ahmad Kurnia stated, his side added 4 business categories that will be also closed until April 19.

Closing of 60 RPTRAs in South Jakarta is Extended to a Week

"Again, we remind all tourism industry operators to implement the updated regulation by closing the venue in accordance with the specified date. Through various considerations, we will also close other four business activities that could potentially cause transmission of COVID-19," he explained as quoted from Jakarta PPID Press Release, Saturday (4/4).

Here are tourism business that should be closed during COVID-19 pandemic period:

1. Night Club

2. Discotheque

3. Pub

4. Family Karaoke

5. Executive Karaoke

6. Bar

7. Massage Parlor

8. Spa (Sante Par Aqua)

9. Cinema

10. Bowling

11. Billiard

12. Sauna

13. Skating

14. Game Arena for Adults

Meanwhile, here are the additional tourism business that should be closed temporarily:

15. Game Arena for Children and Family

16. Sport and Recreation Venue

17. Beauty Salon / Hair Care Service

18. Event Organizing of MICE / Ballroom / Hall Meeting

This policy was made following the issued circular letter number 184/SE/2020 concerning the Extension of Temporary Closing Period of Tourism Industry's Operational Activities in Precautions Against Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Transmission.

This decision was taken to follow up Jakarta Governor Decree Number 361/2020 concerning Extension of COVID-19 Disaster Emergency Response Status in Jakarta, from April 3 to April 19, 2020.
